Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences at client water and wastewater facilities. The role involves training local teams, performing maintenance, collecting samples, and ensuring compliance across sites.

Extensive travel (1–4 weeks or more) is required, with shifts on both day and night schedules. The position emphasizes developing training resources, coordinating with the SWOT team, and maintaining SOPs while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes.
• Operational experience of site specific equipment preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required.
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia facilities in your designated region during vacations/absences.
• Provide in-person training visits and develop electronic training materials for technicians.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices across Veolia operated facilities in your designated region.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team and training of new technicians.
• Troubleshoot process issues and assist in decisions based on lab data.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves to regulate flow in the wastewater treatment plant.
• Collect and test wastewater samples and maintain records.
• Coordinate with maintenance and client teams on equipment.
