Job summary

Veolia seeks a traveling Wastewater Operational Technician to cover vacations and absences at client facilities across the region. You will assist with training local teams, manage process changes for compliance, and support startup projects.

The role requires hands-on operation, troubleshooting, sampling, and data recording across multiple sites. Significant travel is expected, with 1–2 weeks away from home, up to a month in some cases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalents required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able to take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes.
• Operational experience of site specific equipment preferred, including,
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required.
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia operated facilities in the designated region during vacations and unplanned absences.
• Assist in operational development of local technicians through hands-on training and development of training materials.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used at Veolia facilities (record keeping, lab procedures, maintenance).
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team; train newly hired technicians.
• Provide knowledgeable support to local technicians to troubleshoot process issues.
• Operate and control pumps, valves, and motors to regulate flow in WWTP.
• Collect and test wastewater samples to determine concentrations and impurities.
• Maintain accurate records of client data and chemical residuals.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs.
• Analyze lab data to identify issues and implement process changes.
• Coordinate with facility teams to maintain WWTP equipment.
• Consult with management to determine best treatment for wastewater.
