Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across our facilities. You will train local technicians, ensure compliance with standards, and support start-up projects with the SWOT team.

This role requires frequent travel and strong problem-solving abilities. You will operate pumps and valves, collect samples, maintain records, and coordinate maintenance across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes.
• Operational experience of site specific equipment preferred, including:
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required. Ability and desire to build and maintain a 'team mentality'
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia facilities in designated region during vacations and absences.
• Develop local technicians through hands-on training visits and materials development.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices in Veolia facilities within region.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team.
• Provide troubleshooting support to local technicians to enable proactive decisions.
• Operate and control pumps and valves to regulate wastewater flow.
• Collect and test wastewater samples to determine concentrations.
• Maintain accurate records of client data and lab results.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs and policies.
• Coordinate with multiple facilities to maintain wastewater equipment.
