Job summary

Veolia is seeking a traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across designated facilities in the region. You will train local technicians, ensure best practices, and support new account startups with the SWOT team.

Responsibilities include operating pumps, collecting samples, maintaining records, and implementing process improvements. Expect significant travel, including extended periods away from home, and a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes
• Operational experience of site specific equipment preferred, including:
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required. Ability and desire to build and maintain a "team mentality"
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia operated facilities in your designated region during vacations and unplanned absences.
• Assist in operational development of local technicians through hands-on training visits and development of electronic training materials.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used at Veolia facilities, including record keeping, lab testing, and preventive maintenance.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team to develop tasks and training.
• Provide knowledgeable support to local technicians for troubleshooting and proactive decision-making.
• Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate wastewater flow.
• Collect and test wastewater samples and maintain accurate client data records.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs and site-specific SOPs.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement process changes to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with multiple site teams to maintain wastewater plant equipment.
