Job summary

Veolia is seeking a traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across multiple facilities in the region. The role includes troubleshooting, training, instrument calibration, and regulatory reporting.

You will operate pumps and valves, collect samples, and maintain records while ensuring compliance and safety. The position requires substantial travel, with 1–2 weeks away from home and sometimes up to a month during extenuating circumstances.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field.
• The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and clear communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalents is expected.
• Willingness to travel as part of a traveling work role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational coverage of Veolia facilities as vacations/absences occur.
• Train and develop local technicians; create training materials and SOPs.
• Ensure industry standards, lab procedures, and preventive maintenance.
• Support start-up projects with the SWOT team and training of new staff.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves; collect and test wastewater samples.
• Record keeping of chemicals, turbidity, pressure; ensure safety compliance.
• Work day and night shifts; be available for emergency call-ins.
