Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Regional Veterinary Technician Trainer with 4–6 years of clinical experience and 2+ years in training to elevate patient care through mentoring and education. You will partner with regional leaders, develop onboarding and upskilling plans, and deliver coaching across Thrive hospitals in the region, with up to 80% travel.

A Texas-credential transfer is required.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician with 4–6 years clinical experience.
• Eligible to transfer credentials to Texas.
• At least 2 years in training or leadership roles.
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of competency-based training.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
• Provide tools and feedback for onboarding and upskilling.
• Deliver coaching and professional development to technicians and trainers.
• Mentor hospital leaders on resources and best practices.
• Support Thrive's clinical skills progression and goals.
• Promote a culture of learning and psychological safety.
• Align training initiatives with Thrive standards.
• Monitor training activities and report outcomes.
• Contribute to Technician Advisory Council meetings.
• Stay current in veterinary medicine and adult learning principles.
