Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Regional Veterinary Technician Trainer to lead clinical training and staff development across the San Antonio, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, and Austin region. The role focuses on coaching, onboarding, and upskilling Veterinary Technicians and leaders to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years clinical experience as a credentialed veterinary technician.
• Must be eligible and able to transfer credentials to Texas (CVT, LVT, RVT or LVMT).
• Minimum 2 years of training, leadership, or management experience.
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong competency in veterinary technician skills and knowledge.
• Proven ability to contribute to a well-functioning team.
• Experience in competency-based training and servant leadership.
• Excellent communication skills and high EI.
• Solution oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Leadership skills with ability to inspire teams.
• Passion for veterinary medicine and improving patient care.

Responsibilities

• Identify skill gaps and coordinate regional hospital support plans with leadership.
• Provide tools, training, and feedback for onboarding, training, and upskilling aligned with clinical excellence.
• Deliver coaching and professional development support to Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, trainers, and technician leaders.
• Mentor hospital leaders and trainers on resources and adult learning best practices.
• Support team member growth through Thrive's clinical skills pathway and set development goals.
• Promote a culture of learning, psychological safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure training initiatives align with Thrive standards and regional priorities.
• Advise hospital leadership on staffing, workflow, and operational efficiency.
