Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to oversee operations at multiple sites in a defined region. You will lead a team of Area Managers, drive safety, quality and performance, and coordinate staffing and strategic planning across the network.

The role requires 3+ years of management experience, a relevant degree or equivalent, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees.
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers located within sites to streamline logistics operations.
• Own safety, quality, performance and customer experience for your region.
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and drive overall operational goals.
• Forecasting, appraising performance, rewarding and coaching staff; resolve staffing issues.
• Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.
• Share best practices across shifts and network; travel up to 50%.
• Adapt to a variety of hours including overnight, weekends and holidays.
