Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to oversee Transportation Operations across multiple sites in a defined region. You will lead a team of Area Managers, drive safety and performance, and align with strategic goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The role requires 3+ years in people management, a broad operations background, and flexibility for travel up to 50% with varied hours. Gardner, KS is a supported location, with an attractive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees.
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers within sites to streamline logistics.
• Ensure overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience for the region.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and procedures.
• Meet and exceed operational goals and forecast/plan strategically.
• Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression.
• Share best practices across shifts and network; travel up to 50% as needed.
• Work hours can include overnights, weekends and holidays.
