Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Recruiter to partner with regional leadership and hiring managers across business lines. This on-site role supports the South Central Region (Houston, Austin, San Antonio) and leads full life cycle recruitment for external and internal positions with strong local market knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in human resources, business or related field.
• Experience with full lifecycle recruitment in engineering, construction, power, oil and gas or heavy industrial markets.
• Ability to develop sourcing strategies using market research, networks and local relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to advise hiring managers and collaborate with HR teams.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems and internet sourcing tools.
• Understanding of Boolean search techniques for sourcing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, problem solving and research skills.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Talent Acquisition and regional leadership to anticipate hiring needs and set search priorities.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies informed by local market and competition.
• Build and maintain pipelines through direct outreach, local networks and referrals.
• Screen candidates to assess qualifications, interests, and salary expectations.
• Coordinate interview processes and support candidates visiting the office.
• Present offers and negotiate terms with selected candidates.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies and provide guidance to teams.
• Provide regional hiring updates and collaborate with HR partners.
