Job summary

Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) is seeking an outside sales professional to represent LMA and LMIA to member and potential member livestock auction markets in the assigned region, with extensive travel across North America. The role emphasizes membership and insurance sales, problem resolution, account retention, and industry promotion.

Ideal candidates are self-starters with people skills and, ideally, livestock industry experience.

Qualifications

• Must obtain insurance licenses in the assigned region.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in livestock industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Solicits livestock auction markets and allied businesses for LMA membership.
• Maintains relationships to retain membership and address questions.
• Acts as liaison between members and LMA on industry issues and dues.
• Participates in lobbying for regulatory and legislative activities in the region.
• Develops relationships with allied industry organizations and officials.
• Conducts on-site assessments and advises on employee training and policy.
• Organizes and serves as executive secretary for state affiliate LMA organizations.
• Obtains/maintains required insurance licenses and keeps policy knowledge.
• Travels extensively by car and airplane; maintains relationships for renewals.
