Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Branch Rental Manager to drive margin and revenue through maximum vehicle utilization, cost controls, and aggressive marketing.

You will lead outside sales, fleet planning, and customer retention across Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, and Reading, PA locations, with local travel between sites. The role requires extensive experience in rental and sales, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience in similar or related industry.
• Five (5) years or more Rental or Sales experience required.
• Three (3) years or more experience in Rental product line to include outside sales & rental counter supervision required.
• Two (2) years or more experience managing others required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office environment – advanced required.
• Complete understanding of marketplace conditions to maximize utilization of the rental fleet – advanced required.
• Must possess a profound knowledge of rental operations and asset management – advanced required.
• Strong preference for true, face-to-face outside sales background; a logistics/transportation industry background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Outside Sales/Marketing: Set appointments with prospective customers and perform customer retention visits.
• Rental: Ensure rental contracts are properly completed and that customers are placed in ready vehicles.
• Personnel Management: Recruitment, training, guidance, and performance appraisals.
