Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Northeastern Pennsylvania seeks an Outside Sales - Rental Manager to grow rental margin and revenue across Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and Reading branches.

You will drive sales, manage fleet operations, supervise staff, and collaborate with customers to meet service levels while optimizing utilization of the rental fleet and controlling costs. Travel is local with no overnight requirements, and a performance-based compensation plan includes base salary plus commission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years Rental or Sales experience.
• 3+ years experience in Rental product line including outside sales & rental counter supervision.
• 2+ years experience managing others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced).
• Valid driver's license; ability to travel locally between Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, and Reading, PA.

Responsibilities

• Outside Sales/Marketing: set appointments with prospective customers and perform retention visits.
• Rental: ensure contracts are properly completed; manage cash and rental assets; analyze fleet reports.
• Personnel Management: recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff; develop strengths.
• Coordinate data in marketing databases; maintain relationships with customers; maximize rate opportunities.
• Provide rental counter training and supervision; perform other duties as assigned.
