Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Regional Program Specialist - Reserve to support Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) programs in overseas locations. Deployments are typically 6 months with remote training, in-person sessions, and mandatory time off at assignment end.

You will manage SAF/IS programs, coordinate volunteers, and liaise with military and Red Cross leadership to ensure mission success in austere environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or related field is required.
• A minimum of five years related experience in program management or related field is required.
• Public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are required.
• Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate emergency communication messages and related support services to military members and families.
• Monitor and document program activities and outcomes for reporting.
• Build strong relationships with military leadership, command staff, and installation partners.
• Recruit, mentor and manage volunteers across SAF/IS and related programs.
• Coordinate educational briefings, community workshops, and events supporting SAF/IS objectives.
• Prepare for deployment readiness and provide operational support for mobile teams.
