Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients and visitors, verify information, collect co-pays, and support smooth practice operations across multiple offices (Haverhill, Methuen, Andover, Salem NH, Seabrook NH, Newburyport, Amesbury).

Reporting to a Practice Manager or Ambulatory Practice Coordinator, you will help ensure timely flow, accurate data entry, referrals and excellent service while acting as a liaison between patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 Medical Admin Assistant Cert preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors with courtesy and privacy.
• Serves as a central communication source in patient care delivery.
• Provides accurate information, directions and follow-up to meet needs.
• Performs check in, registration, scheduling, verification of demographics, and billing data entry.
• Collects co-payments following standards for co-payment processing.
• Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments to accommodate patient/provider needs.
• Obtains and enters referrals.
• Monitors and supports patients and visitors entering and leaving the practice.
• Facilitates timely flow and proactively solves flow issues.
• Acts as a liaison between patient and practice staff for optimal service delivery.
• Other responsibilities may include check out, follow-up scheduling, education materials, visit ticket entry, records prep.
• Level II responsibilities include facilitating billing functions and information requests.
