Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services is seeking an experienced Deputy Regional Manager within the Family Independence Administration to oversee Benefits Access Centers, supervise BOS staff, and drive continuous improvement in eligibility determination and service delivery.

The role involves coordinating with senior management, leading program planning sessions, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of satisfactory full-time experience performing work related to providing employment related services or economic support services to persons in need, at least eighteen months of this experience must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and eight years of full-time experience equivalent to the first item; at least eighteen months of this experience must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with college credits substituting for experience on a 30 credits per year basis; must include at least 18 months in supervisory/managerial capacity.

Responsibilities

• Make use of worksheets to summarize issues in Benefits Access Centers and guide staff on best practices.
• Lead teams in program planning and development meetings with FIA/HRA management and other agencies.
• Direct management audits to assess operations, procedures, and efficiency; implement corrective actions.
