Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mining/Geology professional to lead safety initiatives and regional mine planning across multiple sites. You will direct the mine planning team, develop regional plans, and ensure adherence to corporate standards while coordinating with project teams and sites to optimize safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong data analysis, CAD/GPS proficiency, and experience in both surface and potentially underground mining operations.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in geology, mining, or related engineering/technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive technical responsibility in a surface mining environment; leadership experience is a plus.
• Preferred 4–6 years of underground and/or above-ground mining and blasting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of regional mine plans and ensure consistency with Lhoist planning standards.
• Oversee site mine planning, develop mine plans, schedules, and associated models.
• Gather and analyze production and performance data to develop safe, economically sound design documents and cost models.
• Lead CAPEX processes, contractor vetting, and cross-functional project roles.
• Coordinate site visits/audits and provide on-site technical support as needed.
