Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mine Engineer to develop short and medium term mine plans, maintain mine models, and lead on-site planning. You will perform regular surveys, update pit topography, and coordinate drilling layouts while ensuring ore recovery and budget adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mine Engineering with 1–3 years of surface mining experience; an MS degree is preferred. Strong CAD skills and familiarity with survey tech are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of surface mining experience, preferably in lime or cement industries
  • MS degree in Mine Engineering or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop short and medium term mine plans.
  • Maintain mine models and lead short-term planning at the site.
  • Update pit and dump topography and perform monthly drone volume surveys.
  • Coordinate exploratory drilling layouts and organize ore quality data for isopach models.
  • Create and manage weekly to annual mine and waste storage plans.
  • Collaborate with corporate G&M technical team on long-term quarry planning.
