Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mine Engineer to participate in surveying, mapping, ground control, and quality assurance for Crab Orchard operations. The role involves data collection, geologic modeling, and supporting safety programs.

You will work with the Mine Supervisor and Manager, contributing to short- and long-term mine plans and ensuring alignment with operating requirements. Required education includes a BS in geology/mining or related field, with 1–3 years of underground mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in geology, mining, or related engineering/technical degree or equivalent.
• Previous internship or 1–3 years of underground mining experience; 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect quality control samples from mining benches and analyze data.
• Support mine planning, horizon control, and safety compliance.
• Perform mine surveys, blast pattern design, and ground support planning.
• Coordinate with geologists and mine engineers on long-term reserve life.
