Job summary

Pierce County Library System is seeking a Library Operations Supervisor to oversee daily regional operations, staff, payroll, budget, and service excellence. The role requires hiring and coaching staff, coordinating facilities, and ensuring high-quality customer service aligned with the system’s plan.

The position supports evenings and weekends and requires collaboration with other library leaders to drive efficiency, implement policy, and strengthen community impact across Pierce County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years library or customer service experience, with 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and adapt to schedule changes.
• Experience with an Integrated Library System and data management.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of an assigned library region.
• Hires, trains, coaches, evaluates, and disciplines staff.
• Manages payroll, budgets, and service standards.
• Coordinates facilities, safety, and vendor relationships.
• Collaborates with regional supervisors to align operations with policy.
