Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to provide technical leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead high-voltage projects, serve as the technical authority for protection and control, and mentor engineers while supporting business growth and project delivery.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in protective relaying, SCADA integration, and coordination, with a PE license and a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related.
• PE license is preferred.
• 15 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Domestic/international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying and control systems.
• Develop and approve protection engineering deliverables and studies.
• Mentor engineers and support business development.
• Ensure project budgets, schedules, and quality adherence.
