Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer, Regional Technical Leader, to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. Lead protection and control engineering efforts, mentor staff, and drive project delivery across multiple offices.

The role requires strong expertise in protection systems, relaying, SCADA integration, and power system studies, with a focus on developing people and delivering reliable power infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
PE license required or eligible.
Extensive experience in protection and control engineering for substations.

Responsibilities

Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of HV substation protection and control projects.
Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and substation communications.
Develop, review, and approve engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings).
Lead studies, protection coordination, and equipment selection.
Mentor engineers and support business development.
