Job summary

State of South Carolina in Florence County is seeking a Regional Field Tech to join the Bureau of Information Technology Services in an in-office role.

You will handle tier 1–3 service tickets, support Agency equipment, and assist IT Technician II while working regionally across Kershaw, Fairfield, Lee, Chesterfield, and Darlington counties.

This position requires a driver’s license, the ability to lift 40 lbs, and willingness to drive routinely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and experience in information technology systems or related area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 to 3 level support by to Agency equipment to ensure a proper operating environment and provide user(s) hardware and software support.
• Assists IT Technician II with resolving various hardware, and software trouble shooting issues, especially when it is above the tier 1 or 2 level.
• Performs any hardware, and software upgrades to Agency equipment, and installs new, and enhanced products.
• Assist agency management in making short and long-term decisions regarding information technology growth, and development.
• Participate in meetings to effectively communicate information within all areas of IT Services.
• Keep records, logs and reports of site visits made, gas receipts, mileage, maintenance, etc. and submit these reports to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Additional duties as required.
