Job summary

EMJ in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Regional HR Specialist to support HR operations across the operating region. You will assist with daily HR tasks, onboarding, HRIS data entry in Dayforce, and reporting under the guidance of the HR Manager.

This non-exempt role focuses on accurate, confidential HR processes, including recruiting support, onboarding, benefits administration, open enrollment, and collaboration with site leadership to ensure compliant HR operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0-5 years of HR experience or equivalent education.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Prior HRIS data entry and reporting experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive/confidential employment information.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Recruitment Specialist to execute the recruitment process, with clear role delineation.
• Prepare and coordinate pre-employment documentation, drug testing, and background checks.
• Ensure Day 1 readiness, including onboarding logistics and timely completion of documentation.
• Conduct new hire orientation and complete onboarding documentation.
• Enter, update, and maintain employee data in HRIS (Dayforce) and ensure accuracy of records.
• Maintain employment documentation and compliance records, ensuring audit readiness.
• Review timesheets, payroll registers, and employee record changes for accuracy and compliance.
• Support PTO tracking, wage changes, and payroll adjustments.
• Coordinate with payroll on garnishments, deductions, and bonuses/incentives.
• Ensure compensation changes are properly documented and processed.
• Support performance management processes, including tracking and documentation.
• Assist managers with disciplinary documentation under HR Manager guidance.
• Respond to routine employee questions; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Support resolution of employee relations issues with HR Manager.
• Communicate and reinforce HR policies; ensure compliance with laws and audits.
• Assist with benefits administration and enrollment support.
• Support annual open enrollment and wellness initiatives with clear information for employees.
• Identify development gaps and succession risks with HR Manager for action planning.
• Coordinate offboarding activities and ensure exit documentation is completed.
• Provide cross-coverage and support to other Regional HR Specialists as needed.
