Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established processes and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dispatch environment.
• Proven reliability and schedule adherence.
• Experience with dispatch or fleet management systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Excel; capable of web conferencing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routine dispatch of customer freight across local, regional, OTR and linehaul routes.
• Dispatch and support both company drivers and independent contractors per guidelines.
• Serve as primary contact for driver communications via phone, in-cab tech, and email.
• Relay load instructions, routing details, and service updates to drivers.
• Monitor shipment status, driver progress, and appointment times to ensure on-time pickups/deliveries.
• Maintain records of driver hours, availability, utilization, and performance.
• Identify service disruptions and escalate issues per SOPs.
• Provide routine customer updates based on service expectations.
• Coordinate with customer service, operations, and sales to communicate shipment status.
• Support long-haul freight movement by monitoring multi-day shipments and handoffs.
• Assist onboarding of new drivers with system navigation guidance.
• Perform data entry, documentation review, and admin tasks to support fleet and dispatch.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.
