Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking an Operations Agent for Domestic Freight Forwarding to provide advanced customer service, coordinate shipment activity, and oversee documentation and financial processes in a 100% on-site environment. You will work closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service reliability.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; undergraduate degree preferred.
• Progressive experience in customer relations, logistics, transportation, or operational support.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams, managing complex or escalated service inquiries.
• Oversee and coordinate shipment activity from order entry through delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Resolve shipment exceptions and documentation issues; determine corrective actions.
• Lead advanced tracking and tracing activities and communicate mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Coordinate scheduling for pickups, deliveries, and operations across multiple parties.
• Review and approve shipping documentation including AWBs, BOLs, labels, and POD.
• Provide guidance to Customer Relations Coordinators and support staff on procedures and systems.
