Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to establish relationships with customers and prospective clients, handling transactions and cross-selling across branch locations. The Float role will be assigned to the North East Region and may travel to Jersey City Heights, Journal Square, Bayonne, Greenville, Jersey City Main, and other branches as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of sales and service experience in a customer facing retail environment.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Proficient at learning computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Must register as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the NMLS prior to handling mortgage loan applications.

Responsibilities

• Meet sales referrals and cross-selling goals by knowing product features and benefits.
• Promote bank products and refer or resolve customer inquiries about accounts or banking services.
• Refer customers for commercial products to branch manager or business partner.
• Provide a positive customer service experience and build relationships.
• Grow a book of business by proactive outreach and referrals.
