Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks an experienced Regional Environmental Engineer to guide environmental permitting and compliance for AWS data centers and facilities in the United States. The role focuses on site due diligence, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with Real Estate, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure timely, compliant projects.

The candidate will lead multi-stakeholder engagements with regulatory agencies and consultants, delivering effective environmental plans

Qualifications

5+ years of project management in data centers or similar critical infrastructure.
Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance.
Strong understanding of CWA 404 and NPDES permitting, groundwater protection, and related evaluations.

Responsibilities

Lead environmental due diligence for site selection and development.
Develop and execute regional and site-specific permitting strategies.
Support environmental compliance during design, construction, and data center operations.
Communicate environmental requirements and risks to partners and stakeholders.
Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, and others to optimize site plans.
Develop permitting strategies that are sustainable and timely.
Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations for permits.
Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.
