Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to lead environmental due diligence and permitting for data center siting and development in the United States, including Phase I/II ESAs and regulatory strategies.

You will collaborate across Real Estate, Legal, Risk, Design, and external regulators to ensure compliance during design and construction, and hand off to operations with robust compliance plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent.
• Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects with expertise in CWA 404 and NPDES permitting.
• 7+ years of environmental due diligence for greenfield and brownfield sites, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• At least 3 years of project or task management experience for environmental permitting and/or due diligence projects.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations to support data center siting and development strategies.
• Lead environmental due diligence, including Phase I and II ESAs and permitting evaluations.
• Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans for data center construction and expansion.
• Communicate environmental requirements and risks to internal and external partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power and others to optimize site designs.
