Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Regional Environmental Engineer to lead permitting and compliance for AWS data centers and infrastructure globally. You will partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Construction to drive environmental strategies throughout development lifecycles.

Responsibilities include due diligence, Phase I/II ESAs, permit procurement, and regulatory negotiations to keep projects on schedule while meeting environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects with CWA 404 and NPDES.
• 7+ years environmental due diligence experience.
• 3+ years project or task management for permitting/due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations for data center siting and delivery.
• Lead Phase I/II ESAs, permitting evaluations, and resource assessments.
• Deliver permits, approvals, and plans for construction and operations.
• Communicate requirements and risks to project partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power for site optimization.
• Develop site development and permitting strategies that are sustainable and timely.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions for permits and strategies.
• Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.
