Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Environmental Engineer to lead environmental permitting and compliance for AWS data centers across the US. You will develop regional strategies, perform due diligence, and coordinate with Real Estate, Legal, Risk, Design, and Operations teams.

A successful candidate will have 5+ years in project management for large-scale infrastructure and expertise in CWA 404 and NPDES permitting to support AWS growth and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
• Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects with CWA 404 and NPDES permitting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations to support data center siting and development timelines.
• Lead Phase I/II environmental site assessments and permitting evaluations.
• Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans for new data centers and expansions.
• Communicate environmental requirements and risks to internal and external partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to optimize site designs.
• Develop site development and permitting strategies that are environmentally responsible and timely.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations for permits and compliance.
• Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.
