Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to drive permitting and compliance for data center siting and operations. You will guide due diligence, regulatory interactions, and cross‑functional collaboration across Real Estate, Legal, and Design to meet project timelines.

You will manage Phase I/II assessments, CWA 404 and NPDES permitting, groundwater protection, and waste water considerations while communicating risks to stakeholders and leading program improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable infrastructure.
• Experience delivering environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects, especially CWA 404 and NPDES.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations for data center siting and development.
• Lead environmental due diligence and permitting evaluations (Phase I/II, regulatory).
• Deliver permits, approvals, and plans for construction and operation of new/expanded data centers.
• Communicate environmental requirements and risks to internal and external partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and other teams to optimize site designs.
• Develop strategies that are environmentally responsible and timely.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations for permit acquisition.
• Develop, manage and track project metrics.
