Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Regional Environmental Engineer to support permitting and compliance for AWS data centers. You will lead environmental due diligence, coordinate with multiple internal teams, and manage regulatory interactions to enable site development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
• Experience delivering environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance with CWA 404 and NPDES.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations for data center siting and development.
• Lead environmental due diligence including Phase I/II ESAs and permitting evaluations.
• Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans for new data center locations.
• Communicate environmental requirements and activities to internal and external partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to optimize site designs.
• Develop site development and permitting strategies that are environmentally responsible.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations for permit acquisition.
• Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success.
