Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services in Herndon, VA, seeks an experienced Environmental Program Manager to lead multi-state permitting, due diligence, and compliance for data center development and operations.

You will partner with Real Estate, Legal, Risk, and regulatory agencies to develop regional permitting strategies, manage project scope, and ensure timely, compliant delivery of new and expanded data center sites across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance projects.
• Strong knowledge of CWA 404 and NPDES permitting, groundwater protection and related regulations.
• Minimum 7+ years in environmental due diligence for existing sites and new development.
• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience for environmental permitting.
• Experience engaging with regulatory agencies and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigations for data center siting and development.
• Lead environmental due diligence including Phase I/II ESAs and permitting evaluations.
• Deliver permits, approvals, and plans for on-time compliant construction/operations.
• Communicate environmental requirements and activities to internal/external partners.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk and others to optimize site designs.
• Develop site development and permitting strategies that are sustainable and timely.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations for permits.
• Develop, manage and track compliance plans for permits.
• Develop and track metrics to evaluate project success and compliance.
