Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental compliance for data centers in Ohio. You will develop standards and policies, monitor performance metrics, and guide teams in applying Amazon environmental standards across projects.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulators, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement while traveling within the state and the U.S. as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy;
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization;
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards;
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance;
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement;
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently;
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company;
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately;
• Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies;
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.
