AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to oversee environmental compliance for Missouri data centers, including policy development and performance analytics. You will travel across the state, guide teams on Amazon standards, and coordinate with governmental entities and contractors.

The role emphasizes metrics, audits, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safety and regulatory adherence while maintaining cost-efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with regulatory environmental requirements across EPA/state rules.
• Ability to develop and implement environmental compliance programs including waste, water and air regulations.
• Degree in chemistry/chemical/environmental engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
• Ensure work by contractors and staff meets Amazon standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to measure and forecast performance.
• Conduct audits for continuous improvement across sites.
• Prioritize and manage multiple complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon with government agencies and stakeholders.
• Build relationships to identify and manage risks early.
• Assist in timely regulatory reporting submissions.
• Investigate environmental incidents and specify corrective actions.
