Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Regional Environmental Engineer is responsible for environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Missouri, developing standards and policies, and guiding teams in implementing environmental standards. The role requires travel across Missouri and collaboration with government entities, contractors, and internal teams.

Based in New Florence, MO, the REE will develop metrics, perform audits, and ensure timely regulatory reporting while maintaining strong relationships

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental regulations
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
• BA/BS degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field of study

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
• Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action
