Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to lead environmental compliance for data centers in Ohio, with travel across the state and the US. You will develop standards, monitor metrics and guide teams to ensure regulatory alignment and performance.

Based in Columbus, OH, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to support sustainability goals, perform audits, and drive continuous improvement in environmental programs for AWS facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment
• 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of construction or project management experience
• Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
• Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
• Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
