Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an experienced Estimator to oversee regional estimating functions, budgets, and staffing. You will collaborate with project managers on procurement, bids, and change orders while maintaining cost databases and standardized estimating practices.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in estimating techniques, drawings interpretation, and multi-trade costs, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
10 years of related experience with at least 3 in supervision.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Equivalent related experience can substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

Manages and administers estimating in assigned region, including budgets and staffing.
Implements estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
Supports procurement with project managers on PO, subcontracts, and change orders.
Supervises market cost studies and updates the cost database.
Assists leadership by reviewing project details and advising on strategies.
Co-ordinates with design leads for cost effectiveness in proposals.
Ensures use of approved estimating systems and data maintenance.
Maintains historical estimating data for hours across types of estimates.
Reviews final estimates and proposals for accuracy and completeness.
Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
Performs additional duties as required.
