Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead and administer estimating functions in the assigned region, collaborating with project managers to negotiate purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders, and to develop accurate cost data for proposals.

You will maintain the historical data for estimating hours, ensure standardized use of estimating systems, and support region leadership with strategic cost analyses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating strategies, cost control and contracts.
• Able to read drawings and specifications and identify missing elements.
• Experience estimating multi-trade projects and reviewing bid packages.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers estimating functions for region, including budgets and staffing.
• Implements estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Supports procurement with subcontract and change order negotiations.
• Prepares market cost studies and maintains cost database.
• Reviews final estimates and proposal packages for accuracy.
