Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced EHS professional to support regional safety initiatives across multiple offices and customer sites in the United States. The role includes conducting inspections, risk assessments, training, and regulatory compliance efforts.

You will maintain safety records, coordinate with regional teams, and participate in safety investigations while traveling up to 60% to visit sites and offices. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Science/Engineering required.
  • CSP, CIH, or CHSM certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical EHS management experience.
  • Knowledge of Cal-OSHA, EPA, MSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Experience interpreting federal, provincial, state, local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Strong time management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional EHS Leader in leading and coordinating safety initiatives across commercial sales and service offices.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and jobsite visits with technicians at customer sites for both service and contracting work.
  • Maintain accurate safety, occupational health, and environmental records in compliance with OSHA, DOT, provincial, state, local, and other regulatory requirements, along with Trane procedures.
  • Implement Trane safety policies and procedures and ensure employees follow all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review safety data to identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement efforts, including Regional EHS A3 and Lean activities.
  • Assist in developing and delivering annual safety training for employees across assigned regional offices.
  • Conduct new-hire safety training and support PPE purchasing, implementation, and compliance with Trane field standards.
  • Deliver in-person high-risk safety training and assign online training based on business needs and the regional training plan.
  • Keep regional databases updated for training, Qualified Person status, PPE, and inspections.
  • Participate in corporate safety teams when required to support the development of safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safety and environmental invoices and purchase requisitions are processed on time.
  • Coordinate and lead Safety Committees in assigned areas and ensure action items are completed within timelines.
  • Participate in investigations of injuries, near misses, incidents, and accidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.
  • Use the company EHS platform, Benchmark|Gensuite, to assign and monitor inspections, safety concerns, near miss reports, action tracking items, and generate required reports.
  • Support the review and resolution of safety concerns raised through business platforms such as XOi, ProCore, and similar systems.
  • Ensure inspections and audits are completed regularly across assigned offices and assist teams with corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Support workers’ compensation administration, including coordination with insurance carriers and return-to-work program management.
  • Represent the company in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Assist in contractor evaluations as part of the regional contractor qualification process.
  • Support other Trane Technologies businesses, including co-located Trane Supply stores, as needed.
  • Travel across the region to work with technicians on jobsites and regularly visit regional offices.
  • Use office time for administrative work, regulatory documentation, and follow-up on safety concerns.
  • Travel up to 60% across the assigned region.
