Airgas is seeking an Area Driver Trainer to champion driver safety, onboarding quality, and field readiness across our regions. You will lead governance, mentor trainers, and manage final driver certifications to ensure every driver is prepared for on-road success.

Travel is extensive (about 70% within the region). You will oversee curriculum rollout, enforce safety standards, and collaborate with safety leaders on incident investigations and regulatory readiness, shaping a high-performing fleet.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with clean record, Hazmat endorsement, valid DOT Medical Card, LPG trainer endorsement (KS/AR/MO).
• Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent) and CMV management experience.
• 2+ years CMV management and 3+ years risk management; strong knowledge of FMCSR (49 CFR) and DOT CSA scoring.

Responsabilités

• Oversee onboarding for 75–100 drivers; evaluate local trainers and audit weekly logs.
• Direct regional rollout of Driver Training Curriculum and Safety Manual; onboard and evaluate local Driver Trainers.
• Coach on safety standards (Smith System, GOAL, backing protocols) and conduct hands-on evaluations of operational skills.
• Lead final field check-rides; coordinate with leadership on driver certifications and retraining.
• Partner with Area Safety Managers on incident investigations and DOT roadside inspection prep.
