Job summary

YMCA Providence seeks a Regional Director of Youth Development to lead OST programs across Providence and Cranston and oversee the Manton Heights Early Learning Center. You will supervise site staff, ensure licensing compliance, manage staffing and budgets, and drive program quality and enrollment growth.

You will collaborate with YMCA leadership, schools, and community partners to expand access and ensure sustainable youth development and early learning services across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, child development, human services, recreation, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in youth development, early childhood education, OST, education, or related field.
• Experience supervising staff across multiple programs or locations.
• Knowledge of licensed childcare or OST operations and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational support.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct operational leadership for licensed and non-licensed OST programs across Providence and Cranston.
• Directly supervise site-level program staff and maintain a visible, hands-on presence across program locations.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, coach, and evaluate OST staff.
• Develop and manage staffing plans to ensure appropriate coverage and licensing compliance.
• Provide direct support and problem-solving for staffing shortages, family concerns, behavioral issues, and partner concerns.
• Ensure programs are appropriately staffed and prepared for school days, full-day programs, vacations, and summer programming.
• Develop and implement high-quality programming that aligns with YMCA standards and community needs.
• Monitor program quality through site visits, staff observations, data, and continuous improvement.
