Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal-Level Engineer to lead the Southeast US Dams and Hydraulic Structures practice. The role is preferably based in Atlanta (offices in Midtown/Kennesaw) but can be based in GA, AL, MS, LA, or TX.

You will guide technical leadership across dam safety, hydraulics, geotechnical analyses, and rehabilitation projects. The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, has a PE license in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer in the U.S. (required) and Georgia (required or able via comity within 6 months).
• 10+ years of progressive consulting experience (15+ preferred).
• Knowledge of the water resources and dams practice in the Southeast US.
• Experience with risk-informed decision-making (USACE, FERC, Reclamation) preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license for business travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Lead regional business development for Dams and Hydraulic Structures.
• Establish relationships with potential clients and partners.
• Recruit top talent and assemble a multi-disciplinary team.
• Lead the preparation of technical proposals and marketing materials.
• Provide technical leadership to develop dam engineering best practices.
• Mentor staff and assist with recruiting to grow the practice.
• Perform dam safety, hydrology, geotechnical, structural analyses and rehabilitation design.
