Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, environmental health, food science/technology, microbiology, toxicology, veterinary science, or a related field with 10 semester credits in biology/chemistry.
• Five years of professional food and dairy industry experience equivalent to a Food and/or Dairy Industry Field Scientist, including progression to higher roles as specified.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of field inspectors and/or specialists.
• Staff training and quality assurance.
• Policy development and administration; workload management.
• Enforcement, complaint investigation, sampling and emergency response.
• Coordinate program activities with state, local, federal, and other agencies.
