Job summary

Jobtailor is actively seeking a seasoned Pharmaceutical Sales professional to advance oncology and rare disease education, build institutional partnerships, and drive hospital-based sales in the Columbus area.

You will develop tailored account plans, educate clinicians on disease states and product use, navigate IDNs, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve top-tier sales results while traveling regularly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; pharma/biotech experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years pharmaceutical or equivalent experience, incl. 3 years in institutional/ hospital sales.
  • At least 2 years in Oncology or Rare Disease sales or equivalent expertise.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in institutions and navigate complex systems.
  • Strong stakeholder influence mapping and account profiling skills.
  • Proven top-tier sales results in institutions and hospital systems.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including overnights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver education on disease state, patient identification, NF1 PN management and Rare Disease product information to healthcare professionals.
  • Drive sales achievement and relationship development across patient journeys within aligned institutions and hospital service areas.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key customers and maintain high clinical expertise using medical information resources.
  • Develop and implement clinical sales presentations for healthcare personnel.
  • Maximize physician contact by networking within accounts and at medical meetings.
  • Achieve or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory.
  • Execute tailored hospital selling strategies that drive results.
  • Create and maintain account-specific business plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRMs, Market Access, Diagnostics and Enterprise partners.
  • Handle questions and objections compliantly and triage inquiries to appropriate partners.
  • Educate clinicians on clinical approaches and support accurate diagnosis.
  • Demonstrate proper product use to clinicians and hospital teams.
  • Lead patient-centric partnership initiatives involving physicians, staff, patients, clinics and hospitals.
  • Identify and qualify leads and profile new accounts.
  • Track activities and submit timely sales reports.
  • Engage management to refine product and market initiatives.
  • Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources and workload.
  • Work in alignment with ethics and company policies.

  • Interact proactive with management to refine product and market initiatives
  • Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources, and workload
  • Perform work in alignment with Alexion’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 6 years Pharmaceutical or Equivalent Experience, including 3 years biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales experience calling on Institutions and hospital systems
  • At least 2 years of documented, successful pharmaceutical/healthcare sales in Oncology, Rare Disease or relevant therapeutic area expertise
  • Ability to manage the complexity of systems approach and develop multidisciplinary teams in Institutions
  • Strong Institutional navigation and stakeholder influence mapping capabilities
  • Ability to engage diverse specialties and disciplines
  • Proven, documented track record for delivering consistent, 'Top-tier' sales results in Institutions and hospital systems
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in an interdependent, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out and qualify leads and profile new accounts
  • Ability to gain consistent access and develop strong, professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in institutions, IDNs and academic centers
  • Effective time, CRM tool, resource, and workload management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Ability to travel within territory regularly, including frequent overnight and weekend travel
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane
  • Ability to work comfortably in a clinical setting
  • Ability to use a computer and communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging
  • Ability to problem solve and engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue
  • Ability to collaborate with others and maintain general availability during standard business hours
