Job summary

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, now IM Houston, seeks an RCA Caseworker in Houston, TX to enroll refugees in the Refugee Cash Assistance program, verify eligibility, provide orientation, and disburse payments.

You will maintain case files, update the Refugee Management System, coordinate with Employment services, and ensure compliance with program guidelines while supporting clients toward self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year related experience, or a high school diploma with 4 years in related fields.
• Experience in refugee services or case management preferred.
• Strong independent judgement and coordination skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English; second language preferred (Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Kiswahili).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including some weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Enroll refugees and asylees in the RCA program.
• Screen walk-in clients for eligibility and refer to other refugee services.
• Conduct orientations for newly arrived clients.
• Maintain RCA case files and notes per guidelines.
• Disburse monthly RCA payments based on enrollment and family size.
• Update Refugee Management System and Client Track regularly.
• Maintain communication with enrolled clients to ensure program compliance before payments.
• Coordinate with Employment team for monthly compliance data.
• Record debit cards issued to clients and monitor status.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
