Catelli Brothers Family of Foods, located in Collingswood, NJ, is a producer of the finest quality veal and lamb products. We are currently looking for a Refrigeration Technician. The Refrigeration Technician maintains the daily operation of the facility refrigeration systems and performs mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to operate the system safely and efficiently. The technician will assist in other maintenance activities as needed. This position is full-time and part-time, reporting to the Director of Maintenance.

Responsibilities
  1. Review refrigeration equipment manuals and develop preventive maintenance programs to ensure high performance and reliability.
  2. Identify critical parts, determine minimum stock requirements, and ensure availability to minimize downtime.
  3. Audit and improve preventive maintenance programs to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
  4. Communicate with Maintenance team about repairs and keep management informed of repair status and impact on temperatures.
  5. Ensure sanitation after maintenance activities.
  6. Clean refrigeration coils and audit compressor room daily, ensuring proper storage of tools and safety equipment.
  7. Label and store chemicals properly, and manage waste oil according to regulations.
  8. Collaborate with management on temperature issues, and coordinate with the tool crib and maintenance buyer.
  9. Meet with contractors for system projects and maintenance requirements.
  10. Optimize refrigeration system efficiency and enforce safety procedures, PPE compliance, and safety practices.
  11. Report unsafe conditions and perform other tasks as directed.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of operating, repairing, and maintaining complex refrigeration systems.
  • Experience responding to emergencies and isolating sub-systems.
  • Skills in work prioritization, scheduling, and preventive maintenance development.
  • Proficiency with computer spreadsheet software, electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and PLC programming.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, understand lubrication and water treatment requirements.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and EPA regulations related to refrigeration maintenance.
  • Flexible hours and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to contribute to department programs and work in refrigerated environments for extended periods.
Education / Training
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Experience

Minimum 3-5 years in meat production or retail meat management with Journeyman certification.
