About the Role

At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science products and services globally. The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment used in surgical procedures and support installation of complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units, mainly focusing on STERIS's main line of OEM equipment (Washers and Sterilizers).

Ideal Candidate

Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc., are often successful.

Location

This is a remote position supporting customers in New Jersey. Candidates must be based in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
2. Manage time effectively to complete service tasks autonomously.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and ensure compliance.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options, and identify sales opportunities.
5. Support various locations within the territory based on customer needs.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience; technical certifications or military experience are a plus.
2. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet credentialing requirements.
3. Customer service and team engagement experience.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Basic computer skills.
6. Flexibility for scheduling, including potential overnights and early/late hours.
7. Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Benefits
