Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Refrigeration Systems Engineer II to join the Commercial Systems organization. You will design and integrate components for Water-to-Water chillers and heat pumps, model performance, and validate ideas in the lab.

Collaborate with teams in La Crosse, WI, and support organizations in Shanghai and Bangalore to drive innovative cooling solutions. The role requires a BS in Engineering, 2+ years of experience, and strong refrigeration/HVAC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; BS, ME, or similar required.
• 2+ years of engineering work experience in refrigeration/HVAC.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration HVAC systems and testing.
• Experience with validation test plan development and execution.
• Ability to analyze test data and support design decisions.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering knowledge to model chiller and heat pump performance.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans across the design process.
• Develop refrigeration subsystems to meet performance, regulatory, and cost targets.
• Lead new technology and product development to improve function or cost.
• Develop tools for design and integration of components in HVAC products.
• Perform analyses to verify performance and reliability; document results.
• Collaborate across functions (development, production, design, suppliers).
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
